These are the last of a run of plain unfigured claro that has been air drying here in the high desert since 2009. Many hundreds of sets have come and gone from this tree that was felled west of Eugene, Oregon. The guy was going to cut it up for firewood, so I paid him off and cut some nice 8/4 lumber instead. Its always a thing to come to the end of a good nice run that has lasted many years, and to see it go from logs to lumber to sets to guitars, but ultimately the cycle does come to an end. There are a couple more slabs outta this but they are at the very bottom of a shitpile and I don't think they are quartersawn anyway. Not much grain activity here, just nice stable wood that is a pleasure to work with and doesn't break the bank either.
